I would like to give a heartfelt thank-you to Nikki Shields from McMillian Jr. High for her incredible support as I stepped into my new role as Yearbook Adviser.

Even during one of the busiest times of the year, Nikki took the time to meet with me, share helpful resources, answer countless questions, and check in regularly. Her generosity, patience, and encouragement have made a world of difference, and I am truly grateful for her kindness and willingness to help.

It is this type of teamwork that makes it easy to love working in Wylie ISD.

My daughter, Maddy has had some pretty great experiences throughout her time with Wylie ISD. The one program that stands out though is the choir program at Wylie East High School. This program was made great by Dr. and Mrs. Dame.

I saw Maddy grow in so many ways through this program. From her voice, to her confidence, Maddy thrived! She was one of only 2 sophomores to make "Out of the Blue". She stayed in the group all 3 years.

Maddy volunteered for everything choir related that she could. Dr. and Mrs. Dame invested in her, believed in her, and made her believe in herself. Maddy is now singing for the travel A Cappella group called, "New Reign" for her college (Oklahoma Christian University).

Mrs. Kayla Brooks

I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible support and understanding Wylie ISD and Cooper Junior High has shown me during my recent illness.

From the first day, I informed the district and my co-workers of my situation, you demonstrated a level of care and concern that I deeply appreciate. Your willingness to accommodate my needs, check in on my well-being, and reassure me that my health was a top priority has allowed me to focus on my recovery without added stress. Knowing that I could rely on such a dedicated and understanding team has been a tremendous comfort.

I am incredibly grateful to work under leadership that not only values productivity but also cares about the well-being of its team members.

I have worked for Wylie ISD for a couple of years now in Special Education and it is by far the most rewarding school district there is.

Everyone is treated like family despite race, geographic background, financial differences, etc. As an employee with the district, I have been able to grow independently, learn more about myself and help others as Wylie has been able to help me.

I like being a part of the Wylie ISD family because it is a community of love. This year, my family was faced with a trauma and the entire community stepped up to show their support. Hartman Elementary enveloped my younger kids with hugs, kind words and a safe space to continue to learn and grow.

The love that Cooper Junior High showed my oldest son and I came in so many forms: prayers, food, hospital visits and a great deal of patience. This year in the worst moments of my life, Wylie ISD made me feel loved and supported every day. In the spirit of Wylie Way, they proved that tiny (and big) humans come first and a great education with will follow. This spring, my kids learned that school is about more than what you learn in books.

Akin Elementary has been amazing for both of my kids. They have been great at keeping us up to date on upcoming events. My kids love going to school to see their teachers. Everyone at Cooper Junior High has been so welcoming. They are all checking in on me to make sure that I have everything I need to help myself and the students that I am serving. The administrators are always visible and willing to help at the drop of a hat no matter what they are doing at the time. Wylie East High School has amazing teachers who go out of their way to help each other and their students.

The best thing about Wylie ISD is the support I receive. I am surrounded by people who genuinely want to help me become the best version of myself. My PLC and learning specialist help me analyze data and provide better instruction in my classroom. If there is anything I need, the director of curriculum is enthusiastic to help.

My administration is quick to ask about what I need to make things work in my classroom. If there is anything I want to improve on or a new skill I want to learn, there are any number of trainings provided by the district to help me to that end. I would not be the educator I am today had I started in any other district. The people and programs at Wylie ISD help me to be the best version of my myself, year after year.
